It's 1946. WWII has ended, and the world that Jerry Greisinger has returned to has little to do with the one that he left. Normal day-to-day activities leave him feeling broken and empty, and his attempts at returning to a post-war existence have failed.

Victory Blues follows Jerry, his wife, and their friends as they adjust to a world where winning doesn't solve all of the world's problems, and fear pervades every part of the American existence. Victory Blues is a winner of the 2015 NewWorks@TheWorks Playwriting Competition.

Leading this strong ensemble cast are Jacob Wingfield (Lord of the Flies; Hand to God) and Renee Davis Brame (Peter Pan; Hair) as Jerry Greisinger and his wife, Barbara. They are joined by Nichol Prichard (Sister Act) and Jeff Posson as Alice and Howie Cohen. Victory Blues will mark Posson's first time on a Playhouse on the Square stage. Rounding out the cast are Lena Wallace Black (One Man, Two Guvnors) and Kinon Keplinger (The Other Place) as May and Lenny Black. Victory Blues is directed by Jaclyn Suffel. Suffel previously directed the staged reading of Victory Blues.

Victory Blues runs July 7 - July 30 at TheatreWorks. Victory Blues is sponsored by Sedgwick. The Circuit Playhouse Inc. Super Sponsor is Dr. Thomas Ratliff. The Pay-What-You-Can Performance is Thursday, July 30th at 8pm and is sponsored by ArtsZone/AutoZone and Southland Park Gaming and Racing. TheatreWorks is located at 2085 Monroe Ave. For more information or to make reservations, please call 901-726-4656 or purchase tickets online at playhouseonthesquare.org.
