The Orpheum Theatre's 2016 Summer Movie Series continues this week with the return of the The Sound of Music on Thursday, June 9th at 7 PM and The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday, June 10th at 8 PM. These will be the last movies shown on the Orpheum big screen until August as the auditorium undergoes major painting and cleaning of the gold leaf.
On Thursday, get ready to sing along with the most successful movie musical of all time, The Sound of Music. Doors open at 6 PM and guests are encouraged to arrive early for the drink special, selfie station, and trivia in the lobby. Trivia finals will take place on-stage for the chance to win prizes.
Then, on Friday, don't miss the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Doors open at 7 PM. Prop bags for audience participation during the film will be sold in the lobby for $5 while supplies last. Costumes are encouraged and a costume contest will take place before the film hosted by Bella DuBalle.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at www.orpheum-memphis.com, the Orpheum Box Office (901.525.3000), and the ticket counter at The Booksellers at Laurelwood. Parties of 10 or more can enjoy special rates to create the perfect outing for groups, clubs, employees, day cares, and summer camps.
