Movie Musical Hit GREASE to Screen at the Orpheum This Friday

The 2016 Orpheum Summer Movie series is back with a screening of the movie musical hit GREASE on Friday, August 19th at 7 PM. Come see the Orpheum auditorium shine after six weeks of renovations that included major painting and cleaning of the gold leaf. To help celebrate the first film back, beloved Memphis Grizzlies mascot Grizz and the Grizz Girls will make a special guest appearance in the lobby beginning at 6 PM.

"Whether it be moves on the court or stage, the Orpheum, FedExForum and the Grizzlies provide some of the best entertainment the Mid-South has to offer," said John Pugliese, Vice President, Brand, Content Marketing, Communications and Broadcast for the Memphis Grizzlies. "The ability to partner with a screening of Grease will add a little Grizz Lightning to our local event schedule tipping off this month, in advance of the upcoming season."

Spend a fun evening with Danny Zuko, Sandy Olsson, the T-Birds, the Pink Ladies and all the kids from Rydell High as you sing loud and proud to GREASE'S most iconic tunes like "Hopelessly Devoted to You," "You're the One That I Want," and "Summer Nights." GREASE is rated PG-13.

Doors open at 6 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive early in their leather jackets, poodle skirts, and Memphis Grizzlies gear to take photos at the Grizz-enhanced selfie station with Grizz and the Grizz Girls. Grab the drink special and pick the perfect seat for a special Grizzlies swag toss from the stage before the film.

The final film in the 2016 series will be GONE WITH THE WIND on Friday, August 26th at 7 PM.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under.
