Memphian to Share Title Role in MATILDA Tour During Local Run

Casting has been announced for the Memphis engagement of the First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, the First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL will play The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN January 12 - 17, 2016. Tickets are on sale now.

The three girls sharing the title role are Sarah McKinley Austin, Lily Brooks O'Briant, Savannah Grace Elmer. The principal cast also features (alphabetically): Jennifer Blood (Miss Honey), Quinn Mattfeld (Mr. Wormwood), David Abeles (Miss Trunchbull) and Cassie Silva (Mrs. Wormwood).

The ensemble of MATILDA THE MUSICAL includes Esther Antoine, Cameron Burke, Nathanael Clark, Tony d'Alelio, Stephen Diaz, Heidi Friese, Camden Gonzales, Evan Gray, Cassidy Hagel, Jordan Hall, Ashlee Elizabeth Hale, Charlie Kersh, Michael D. Jablonski, Austyn Johnson, Ora Jones, Megan McGuff, Trey Middleton, Justin Packard, Aristotle Rock, Kim Sava, Jaquez Andre Sims, Madison Smith, Ian Michael Stuart, Danny Tieger, Natalie Wisdom, and Darius Wright.

Winner of 50 international awards including 4 Tony Awards and a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life. Armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, Matilda dares to take a stand and change her destiny.

Based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage), who helms this production with a book by Tony Award-winning playwright Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Australian comedian, musician and composer Tim Minchin.

The production has sets and costumes by Tony Award winner Rob Howell, with choreography by Tony Award winner Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Tony Award winner Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Simon Baker.
