The Orpheum Theatre announces Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass tonight, October 5 at 8:00pm. Presented by Madstone Productions & Show and Tell in association with the Steven Barclay Agency. Tickets are $30-$52 and are on sale now.

WKNO presents a riveting look into This American Life, the public radio show that continues to push the boundaries of broadcast journalism. Join Ira Glass -- radio pioneer, host, and creator of This American Life -- as he recreates the sound of The American Life in front of the audience by mixing live onstage stories with pre-taped quotes and music. He will also be featuring a "best of" segment from the series' funniest moments. The public will not want to miss this night full of humor and insight from one America's most treasured radio hosts.

"Mr. Glass is a journalist but also a storyteller who filters his interviews and impressions through a distinctive literary imagination, an eccentric intelligence, and a sympathetic heart..." said the New York Times.

With a career in public radio that spans four decades, Glass' editorial direction has lead This American Life to receive several Peabody and DuPont-Columbia awards. The show, which premiered on Chicago's public radio station WBEZ in 1995, is now heard on more than 500 public radio stations each week by over 1.7 million listeners.

Glass' quirky, unassuming and impossible not-to-like persona seamlessly translates from radio to stage, and audiences will not want to miss this exciting event.

Ticket are on sale now and available for purchase online at the official Orpheum Theatre website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, The Orpheum Box Office(901.525.3000), the ticket counter at The Booksellers at Laurelwood, and all Ticketmaster centers (901.743.ARTS).
