The On Stage at the Halloran Centre series continues with Season 5 American Idol winner Taylor Hicks on Saturday, October 29th at 7:30 PM. This genre-spanning artist and platinum entertainer is no stranger to the Bluff City.
"I've been performing in Memphis for years. It still gives me chills to come up there and experience the music culture," said Taylor Hicks.
Taylor Hicks is one of the most beloved and popular American Idol winners of all time. Hicks' material on the mega-hit show set him apart, with a unique take on Southern soul, R&B, country, and blues. Sixty-four million votes were cast and more than 200 million viewers worldwide tuned in to crown Hicks the Season 5 winner of American Idol, making it one of the most-watched TV events of the last decade. His debut single, "Do I Make You Proud," entered at #1 on the Hot 100 chart. On Broadway, Hicks starred in the hit musical Grease, and in 2012 he began his residency on the Las Vegas strip. He has also appeared in concerts with artists like Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, Gladys Knight, Earth Wind & Fire, and The Allman Brothers.
Hicks has embarked on a new adventure, as the host of INSP's new show State Plate, where he travels across the country experiencing each state's most iconic cuisine. The series will premiere a week before his Memphis engagement on October 21st at 8 PM.
