This provocative winner of five Tony Awards in 2004 brings to the stage a (shooting) gallery of some of history's most notorious players - the men and women who have attempted to kill American presidents. Set to a stylish Stephen Sondheim score, Assassins explores the underbelly of the American Dream through the lives, loves, and lunacy of nine American assassins including John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, and Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme.

Assassins is directed by Playhouse on the Square Resident Company Member Dave Landis (Sanders Family Christmas; Reefer Madness), and features Playhouse on the Square Resident Company Members David Foster (Peter Pan; Mary Poppins) as John Wilkes Booth and Carla McDonald (Mary Poppins; Gypsy) as Sara Jane Moore. Assassins will also feature Philip Himebook (Sanders Family Christmas; Les Miserables) as the Balladeer and Associate Company Member Madeline Glenn Thomas (Bad Jews; One Man, Two Guvnors) as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme.

Assassins runs February 27 - March 22 at The Circuit Playhouse. The Circuit Playhouse Sponsor is the Arthur F. and Alice E. Adams Foundation, Assassins is sponsored by Karen McCarthy. Dr. Thomas Ratliff is the Circuit Playhouse Inc. Super Sponsor. The Pay What You Can performance is Thursday, March 5th and is sponsored by ArtZone/Autozone and Southland Park Gaming and Racing.
