Our Man In Beijing at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre

“Our Man in Beijing” is a comedy about an Australian junior manager (John Williams) sent to Beijing to get a contract settled with a Chinese singer (Ding Mei Ling). Instead of a smooth course of proceedings John finds many cultural challenges for which he was ill prepared to manage. In the midst of being navigated through the dangerous waters of many cross-cultural encounters by friends and foes alike, John falls in love. This monumental event escapes John till he finds himself interviewed with regard to a spousal visa at the Australian Embassy in Beijing. “Our Man in Beijing” is a cross-cultural love story that gives us some entertaining insights in the differences between the Australian and Asian cultures.
