For Our Parents at Damansara Performing Arts Center

Based on the genre of dance theatre, we have created a full length piece which describes the 70's when our parents met each other and fell in love. When our parents were young, getting to know each other and declaring a commitment was a natural process. After getting married, life was just about dealing with daily necessities. Throughout the years, they have been through many ups and downs, but always with their hands held together.

Through theatrical aspects, we explored how dancers move emotionally and communicate with each other. We drew materials from daily lives, such as youth, marriages, giving birth etc. By observing the emotional effects, we found the reason of how people touch and contact with each other. That lead us to explore more dance movement possibilities and connect with audience which creates resonance.
