After sweet Alice Sycamore (Savannah Leavitt) becomes engaged to wealthy Tony Kirby (Peter Osborne) the only thing standing in their way is the approval and blessing of their families. Easier said than done during the dinner between the eccentric Sycamore family and the strait-laced Kirby family. While the Sycamores live life as they please – mother, Penny (Kate Parlin), is a playwright because a typewriter was mistakenly delivered to the house one day, and father, Paul (Ethan Wright), spends his days making fireworks in the basement – Alice worries they’re too…whimsical to get along with her prospective in-laws. As the meeting draws closer and Alice attempts to orchestrate the perfect dinner party, chaos erupts when the Kirby’s show up on the wrong evening. With a ballerina, snakes, a Russian princess, and G-men joining the cast of characters, will either family ever be the same again?
