This October, Machias ACT presents the world premiere of Wake, a dark comedy by playwright Daniel Reynolds that explores themes of death and suicide through a unique lens. Set during an Irish wake, the play features iconic figures such as the Celtic God of Death and a Banshee, engaging audiences in a thought-provoking narrative. With contributions from a talented local cast, this performance highlights the vibrant arts scene of Downeast Maine, promising to elevate the cultural landscape of the region. Wake will be staged at the Performing Arts Center in Machias and the Eastport Arts Center, showcasing innovative theatrical talent.
