Threshold Stage Company's innovative staging of "Into the Woods" this holiday season at the Star Theatre in Kittery, Maine envelops the audience in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's modern fairytale, immersing the viewer in the middle of the outrageously entangled lives of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Giant and many other fairytale characters as they strive to make their wishes come true at any price.

Performances are December 4th - 13th: Friday and Saturday @ 8 pm, Sunday and Saturday Matinee @ 2 pm.

Threshold Stage Company's co-founders, Heather Glenn Wixson and Peter Motson, believe the classic Broadway musical "Into the Woods" is an ideal fit for their first production. "It lends itself perfectly to what we are trying to do; create a dynamic synergy between the audience and the artists involved in creating the production."

"Into the Woods" explores many of the complex interactions and ethical choices we all face every day through the familiar characters of the Brothers Grimm andCharles Perrault fairy tales. Under the expert direction of Mary Tarochione and musical direction by Adam MacDougall, the captivating musical score and the clever and whimsical lyrics and spoken words complete the transformation of Kittery's Star Theatre into an enchanted forest surrounded by the characters we all know so well from our childhood. Characters brought vividly to life by Todd Fernald as The Baker, Danica Carlson as The Baker's Wife, Jerard-James Craven as Jack, Heather Glenn Wixson as the Witch, Sharon Hilton as Milky White, and many more of the Seacoast's favorite performers.

Join Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Giant and other classic fairytale characters as their familiar tales intertwine, go in surprising directions and lead the audience and characters alike down many unexpected paths in this unique fairy tale realm where "happily ever after" doesn't come without a cost.
