Come hear a fabulous concert full of wind band gems directed by a plethora of different conductors! The University of Southern Maine School of Music is proud to present the final concert performance of the inaugural USM Conducting Workshop, featuring Greater Portland's beloved Casco Bay Wind Symphony, eight participating conductors, and world-renowned guest conductor Eugene Migliaro Corporon from the University of North Texas. Conductors from across the U.S. will be coming to beautiful southern Maine to study and develop the art of conducting, culminating in a final concert - we'd love for you to join us!
The program will include Esprit de Corps by Robert Jager; Sheltering Sky by John Mackey; English Folk Song Suite, by Ralph Vaughan Williams; Illyrian Dances by Guy Woolfenden; Pageant, Op. 59 by Vincent Persichetti; Acadiana by Frank Ticheli; One Life Beautiful, by Julie Giroux; and Canzona by Peter Mennin.
The concert will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Merrill Auditorium, 20 Myrtle Street in Portland, Maine. The suggested donation at the door is $10.
