Snowlion Rep, a nonprofit professional theater company in Portland, will host its first ever fundraiser on Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Portland Ballet Studio Theater. Doors open at 6 pm and the featured performance starts at 7 pm.
The fundraiser will feature the following:
MY WITCH: The Margaret Hamilton Stories is a play is about a unique Maine resident - the Wicked Witch of the West herself, Margaret Hamilton. Margaret Hamilton lived on an island near Boothbay Harbor, and the play tells her amazing life story. It is the only play sanctioned by Hamilton Meserve, Margaret Hamilton's son, and it will be presented in staged reading format in this, its world premiere outing.
The audience will learn all about this iconic character actress and her remarkable life in Maine, in Hollywood, and beyond. MY WITCH: The Margaret Hamilton Stories explores how a gentle kindergarten teacher from Cleveland scared the living daylights out of every last one of us...and the brains, heart and courage it took to be America's character woman.
Starring New York's Jean Tafler (member AEA), this is a one-time-only opportunity to see this show in staged reading format before it goes on to future productions.
Snowlion Rep's first ever fundraiser will be held at Portland Ballet Studio Theater, 517 Forest Avenue, Portland.
