Coming to a village near you (Brunswick, Maine) to close out Maine State Music Theatre's 2015 season is Mel Brooks' hilarious musical comedy YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. This show runs August 5 through August 22 with show times at 2 and 7:30 PM.

Mel Brooks' iconic '70s movie became a Broadway smash in 2007. Serving as an affectionate parody of the classic 1930's horror film, the musical was nominated for three Tony Awards and a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album, in addition to winning the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.

Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark says, "This show is hilarious and it'll send you out the door laughing and singing."

Led by returning MSMT Director/Choreographer Marc Robin, the cast is comprised of twenty-six professional and local actors. Jeremiah James (Billy Bigelow in the Broadway revival of Carousel) takes on the film's Gene Wilder role as Frederick Frankenstein, accompanied by Robert Creighton (Broadway's The Mystery of Edwin Drood; Anything Goes; Chicago; The Lion King; Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as his sidekick, Igor, and Timothy Hughes (Broadway's Chaplin: The Musical) as The Monster. Leading ladies include Jessica Lee Goldyn (Broadway's A Chorus Line; On The Town) as Elizabeth, Missy Dowse as Inga, and MSMT regular, Charis Leos as Frau Blucher. The cast finishes up with another MSMT favorite, David Girolmo as Inspector Kemp/Hermit, Paul Aguirre as Victor/Herald, and Steve Gagliastro as Ziggy/Shoeshine.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN's ensemble cast includes: Chrissy Albanese, Michaela Boissonneault, Sara Bond, Alec Cohen, James Spencer Dean, Kenny Francoeur, Michael Graceffa, Benjamin Henley, Jordan Lipes, Connor McRory, Leah Nicoll, Reagan Danel Ogle, Buddy Reeder, DeAngelo Renard, Stefanie Sable, Liz Schmitz, and Lauren Brooke Tatum.
