The Ogunquit Playhouse Children's Theatre Camps are filling up fast. Register your aspiring thespian today for either the Rising Star Camp for children ages 5 to 8, Center Stage Camp for children ages 8 to 10, the Junior Players Camp for ages 9 to 15 or the Teen Players Camp for ages 13-18. These programs offer theatrical training in a supportive and nurturing environment, and no prior training or skill level is required to participate.

Rising Star Theatre Camp combines fun and educational games with instruction for children ages 5 to 8. The directors bring performing arts to life for youngsters new to theatre by teaching basic staging, music and choreography with an emphasis on group performance. By emphasizing the group aspects of performance, students are encouraged to grow at their own pace with no pressure. Speaking roles are available and students may choose to audition for larger roles if they wish. Students attend camp Monday -Friday from 9:00am-Noon with a performance for family members and friends on Friday at 11:00am in the rehearsal space located behind the Playhouse. There is currently space available for all camps: Little Red Riding Hood, June 27 - July 1; The Little Mermaid, July 18 - 22 and August 22 - 26; Treasure Island, August 15 - 19.

Center Stage Theatre Camp is especially designed for children ages 8 to 10. This exciting new program is the perfect step up from the Rising Stars for campers to continue to explore and develop vocal, movement and acting skills. The culminating production will provide a more challenging, yet developmentally appropriate, theatrical experience. It will incorporate a higher level of individual responsibility, perfect for the young performer who enjoys being center stage! Space is available for the production of OZ!, August 1 - 5.

Junior Players Theatre Camp is for students from ages 9 to 16, and will identify, strengthen and enhance each student's performance skills, self-esteem and self-expression. Students receive training in dance and choreography, improvisation, acting, staging and vocal work while preparing to perform before a live audience. Each of the sessions culminates in a fully staged production on the Playhouse's main stage! Registrations are now being accepted for Disney's The Jungle Book, Kids, camp session: June 27 - July 3 (1 week) with performances on Saturday, July 2 at 10AM and 1PM and Sunday, July 3 at 10AM; Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr., camp session: July 11 - 24 (2 weeks) with performances on Saturday, July 23 at 10AM and 1PM and Sunday, July 24 at 10AM; Treasure Island, camp session: July 25 - 31 (1 week) with performances Saturday, July 30 at 10AM and 1PM and Sunday, July 31 at 10AM.

Teen Theatre Camp targets the dedicated 13-18 year old performer who is interested in a more intensive and professional experience. Campers will receive specific instruction by our professional staff in order to challenge and strengthen their vocal, movement and acting skills. The intense rehearsal process culminates in a fully-staged, two-hour long show created with support from our professional main stage technical staff. Space is still available for School of Rock, The Musical, camp session: August 8 - 21 (2 weeks) with performances Saturday, August 20 at 10AM and 2PM and Sunday, August 21 at 10AM.
