After ten years of running arts programming for children and young adults in southern Maine, STAGES Youth Theater is holding its first-ever fundraiser, REVEL!, to celebrate settling into a new space and transitioning to non-profit status.
REVEL!, on November 9, marks a new phase in the STAGES story. The year-round youth theater organization will continue to offer the chance for young people aged 5-18 to participate in fully-staged, professional-quality, all-student productions, but will now do so under a non-profit banner that better reflects the STAGES commitment to inclusion, community-building, and youth development.
What's more, STAGES is now operating in a new home at 202 Woodford St. in Portland. The dedicated space within Woodfords Congregational Church includes a black-box theater, rehearsal space, and extensive backstage areas.
"We're really happy to have all of our programs and productions under one roof which is a huge and exciting change for us," said Stacey Koloski, STAGES co-founder.
Join STAGES staff and supporters for a happy hour celebration that will include:
- the official unveiling of the new rehearsal and performance space at 202 Woodford St. in Portland;
- exciting presentations from theater artists about the STAGES model and mission;
- a short film featuring young STAGES performers;
- and wine, beer & snacks!
