Portland Ovations brings Maine native, sculptor and virtuoso mime Michael Cooper and his Masked Marvels and Wondertales to the stage at South Portland Auditorium, South Portland High School on Saturday, November 19th at 11am for a Family Series performance for all ages.
A protégé of Celebration Barn's Tony Montanaro, Cooper's one-man show Masked Marvels & Wondertales combines his breathtaking handcrafted masks and graceful physicality to create a world where dogs wear hats, wild stallions are tamed, giant noses sneeze and fish bait candy to catch children in a pond. Mr. Cooper puts on a performance that charms audiences with thrilling adventure, silly antics and outlandish possibilities while capturing hearts and stimulating imaginations. In conjunction with this performance, Ovations Offstage in collaboration with Oak Street Studios offers a mask-making workshop for children 4 and up on Saturday, November 12th at the Portland Public Library, in their Children's Library from 10:30am to 12:30pm. The workshop is free and open to the public, but registration is required and space is limited to 50 participants. The public may register at the Children's Library in the Portland Public Library.About Portland Ovations
