POP! is an arts celebration and a silent auction benefit raising money to support Ovations Offstage, Portland Ovations' school- and community-based arts-programs. The party takes place on Tuesday, October 2nd at 5:30pm inside The Portland Company at 58 Fore Street, Portland.

POP! will truly showcase the breadth of programs Portland Ovations offers. "Portland Ovations is perhaps best known for bringing masterful artists to stages throughout greater Portland, but some of our most important work is done through Ovations Offstage, inviting those very same artists into schools and other community settings and connecting these extraordinary artists with Mainers of all ages and backgrounds," explains Aimée M. Petrin, Executive Director of Portland Ovations.

Ovations Offstage is an integral part of Portland Ovations, which creates those resonating moments when artists and audiences come together. The proceeds from POP! enables Ovations Offstage to offer free pre-performance lectures by local Maine experts prior to most Ovations' presentations; a School-Time Performance series that connects schools, teachers and students to the performing arts, as well as in-school workshops with artists and artist-educators; Masterclasses and workshops with visiting artists; arts happenings around town; study guides and other educational resources for students and educators, available for free through Portland Ovations' website.

POP! will be held on October 2nd at The Portland Company, 58 Fore Street in Portland and begins at 5:30pm. Tickets are $25 for Portland Ovations Members, $35 in advance for the general public and $40 at the door. To purchase tickets please call Portland Ovations at (207) 773-3150.
