Penobscot Theatre Company is offering a week-long improv intensive July 16-20 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm led by accomplished performer and teacher Dennis Price. The week will be focused on the character and physical work required to bring theatricality to an improv performance. Also emphasized will be the positive and respectful work environment required to build trust and teamwork onstage. It is open to adults and teens age 15+. Novices are welcome to register along with veteran performers.

All classes will be at the Dramatic Academy Rehearsal Space, 51A Main Street, Bangor. The cost is $150.

"Another summer, another fantastic opportunity to learn improv in Bangor!" said Alekzander Sayers, the interim Director of Education at Penobscot Theatre Company. "Working with Dennis Price is always a treat, and we are excited to have him back to share his wealth of improv experience with us. It's always great to be able to offer strong programming during the summer months when many have free time to participate, and to bring Dennis in to teach makes the occasion even more unique. If you've ever felt the urge to get onstage and perform, this intensive is just what you've been waiting for. Take the leap!"

Dennis Price is a founder of Capital City Improv. He studied and performed improvisation in Chicago at The Second City as well as IO (formerly ImprovOlympic). He moved to Maine in 1998 and has spent his career working as an actor, improviser, teacher, and Director. Onstage he's been seen throughout the state with The Theater at Monmouth, Penobscot Theatre Company, and The Public Theatre in Lewiston. During the summer he performs with ImprovAcadia in Bar Harbor. He currently works as a drama teacher and director at Winthrop High School.
