Penobscot Theatre Hosts Costume-Clad RACE TO THE STAGE 5K Today

Bangor's first costume 5K! Penobscot Theatre Company announces RACE TO THE STAGE, a 5K road race with a dramatic twist - runners in costume. This first-of-its-kind event, will take place today, June 15, in downtown Bangor, with runners starting at 9:00 a.m.

RACE TO THE STAGE promises to attract a spirited and diverse crowd as costumed runners and walkers take their creativity to the streets. RACE TO THE STAGE is designed to promote healthy living and celebrate the central role of the theatre in our community.

PTC's mission is to produce high-quality, professional theatre works and programs that inspire the imagination and cultivate a lifelong passion for the art form. For nearly 40 years, PTC has served as the cultural cornerstone of downtown Bangor, an engine of creativity, intellectual stimulation, economic growth, and fun. The theatre's diverse educational and outreach programming - the largest and most far-reaching in the state - serves more than 7,000 students. Proceeds from the race will help fund these offerings.

PTC is partnering with UBS and two of its senior financial analysts who have committed to serving as star sponsors of the race. Other sponsors include Marianne Lynch and Dr. Robert Hand, Verve, Northland Bark and Mulch, Gilman Electric, Dorey Quality Landscaping, the Law Office of Larry Willey, Katahdin Trust Company, Granville Stone and Lumber, and Siberia Farm.
