Storm Warnings Repertory Theatre presents OUR BETTER ANGELS, a new play by playwright/director Paul Dervis. All ticket sales will be donated to Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief. Dervis notes, "Due to the on-going needs of the people of Puerto Rico, we want to do whatever we can to help."

OUR BETTER ANGELS is the story of Jill and George. Jill Chambers, approaching middle-age, a graduate of Juilliard and former performing jazz musician, now spends her days in a cubicle settling accident claims, and her nights alone along the coast of Maine. Her prized possessions are an artwork she purchased decades earlier and her beloved grand piano--a keepsake from her concert days. George Shapiro, pushing sixty, has settled into a nondescript life, running his small art gallery with his old college roommate, Hal. His wife, Rita, left him years earlier; her life moving on while his remains mired in lost youth.

George and Jill meet at an art opening, both sharing a passion for the artist who created Jill's painting...and an affair is born. From steamy nights to missed flights, the two attempt to hold together a relationship that bounces from the euphoric to the lowest depths and back again. Note: This play contains mature subject matter.

Elizabeth Freeman of South Portland plays the role of Jill. Stephen McLaughlin of Portland performs the role of George. Jay Weston Jones of Biddeford plays the role of Hal. Rebecca Cole of Windham performs the role of Rita and Shelly Elmer from Yarmouth performs the role of Therapist. Susan Staples from Wilton is the Producer. Avery Lescaleet of Arundel is the Stage Manager. Photography courtesy of Tadin Brown Photography.
