Mad Horse Theatre Company has announced that it will open its 27th season in its brand new theatre at the Hutchins School in South Portland. And with election season in full swing, nothing could be more perfect than starting the season with David Mamet's side-splitting comedy, November. With Mamet's characteristic no-holds-barred style, November is a relentlessly hysterical take on the state of American politics today--and a delicious antidote to this political season.

With election day looming, incumbent President Charles Smith sees his chances for re-election growing bleaker by the minute. His campaign is out of money, and his staff is jumping ship. Chuck hates his job-- "too much stress, too little opportunity for theft,"-- but he's not ready to give it all up without a fight. He comes up with a Hail Mary play, a last-ditch effort to use the annual turkey pardon as a chance to win back voters while making a quick buck on the side.

Mad Horse Theatre's Artistic Director Christine Louise Marshall directs the cast of five, featuring Mad Horse Company Members Brent Askari, Burke Brimmer, and James Herrera, joined by Guest Artists Mark Rubin and Lisa Van Oosterum.

Mad Horse Theatre Company will be performing November in their own recently completed black box theatre at the Hutchins School in South Portland. The building already houses the Company's rehearsal space, offices, and costume shop, and now Mad Horse will be performing there as well.

November runs tonight, October 11 - 28 at the Hutchins School, 24 Mosher Street, South Portland.

Performances run Thursday through Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, and Sunday Matinees at 2:00pm. There will be a special Talk Back with the director, the actors and the design team immediately following the matinee performance on Sunday, October 21.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. Mad Horse also offers pay-what-you-can performances each Thursday during the run.

Reservations are recommended. Call the Box Office at 730-2389, or order tickets online at www.madhorse.com.
