Mad Horse Theatre Company opens its 32nd season with the riotous rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, music & lyrics by Michael Friedman, and book by Alex Timbers.
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is a satirical, comedic mash-up of American history that follows Andrew Jackson from his childhood on the wild frontier to his controversial Presidency. With the country divided into rich and poor, and ongoing skirmishes with Native Americans upsetting the New World, Jackson begins his steady climb from military strategist to populist rabble-rouser to President of the United States-and ROCKS like no political figure has ever rocked before!
According to Mad Horse Theatre Company Artistic Director Christine Louise Marshall, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is the perfect play to open this diverse, dynamic season. "We chose to open the season with an explosion of energy! This play has been on our short list for a while, and we knew it was time to share it with our audience and to flex our musical muscles again. The assembled cast and crew are truly up to the task of staging such a dynamic, fascinating play."
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson features Mad Horse Company members Allison McCall, Christine Louise Marshall and Mark Rubin, along with Guest Artists Ryan Walker, Michael Shawn Lynch, Dominic Wolfgang Wallace, Meredythe Dehne Lindsey, Adam Ferguson, Amanda Eaton, Darby DeFilippis, and Megan Tripaldi.
