Penobscot Theatre Company is proud to present the Maine premiere of Murder for Two, a new musical comedy by Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair. Bari Newport, the company's producing artistic director, is directing the vaudevillian musical murder mystery, which will run from October 20 through November 6 at the historic Bangor Opera House.

In this fast-paced whodunit, one actor plays the investigator, one actor plays the multiple suspects, and they both play the piano. "This piece is a wild ride," said Newport, "and to bring it to life, we are thrilled to welcome two phenomenal artists from New York. Danielle Erin Rhodes flips in and out of her various characters with such skill, speed, and hilarity, it's like watching 'The Carol Burnett Show' on fast-forward, and Jason Cohen plays the straight man with equal finesse. They're brilliant!"

Murder for Two will feature scenic and lighting designs by Jonathan Spencer of New York, costume design by Kevin Koski, prop design by Meredith Perry, and sound design by Brandie Larkin. AJ Mooney choreographs.

Rhodes and Cohen first worked together at Ogunquit Playhouse in Buddy--The Buddy Holly Story, and both have performed across the country. While in Bangor, each will lead a master class for students of the craft, teenaged and up. On October 22, at 10:00 am, Rhodes, an experienced hoofer and member of the Actors' Equity Association, will help students stand out while they turn out in Dance Audition 101. On October 29, at 10:00 am, Cohen will lead a master class on Movement and Performance, drawing in part from his recent experience playing Jerry Lee Lewis in the National Tour of Million Dollar Quartet.
