Michael Litchfield plays Seymour Krelborn, an orphan who works in the crummiest and least successful flower shop on New York's skid row. In fact, business is so pitiful at Mushnik's Skid Row Florists that cranky owner Mr. Mushnik (Jason Pelletier) has informed his only two employees, Seymour and Audrey (Christine Gill), that the time has come to close shop for good. In a last ditch attempt to save their jobs, Seymour places a strange and interesting plant he has been caring for in the store window, and a customer is so charmed and fascinated by it that he buys $100 worth of roses. This starts Mushnik and Seymour to thinking-could this plant, which Seymour has named Audrey II (voiced by Rebecca Singer, manipulated by Riley McCurdy), be the answer to their prayers?
Before long, business is booming, Mushnik is thinking of adopting Seymour, Seymour is finding it harder and harder to think Audrey as just a co-worker, and Audrey is wondering if maybe Seymour might just be the knight in nerdy armor who can rescue her from Orin Scrivello D.D.S. (Derrick Lacasse), her sadistic dentist boyfriend. Meanwhile, a group of grade school dropouts named Chiffon (Felicia Mcleod), Crystal (Kay Warren), and Ronnette (Lindsay Cagney) keep popping up to comment on the action and to sing backup to songs in tight three-part harmony. Mix in a colorful collection of skid row residents (Abigail Hart, Sophie Wood, Cheyenne Dulac, Maxwell Draper, Christi Belanger and Ricky Brewster) and you are in for an entertaining ride!
