Threshold Stage Company's intimately staged production of Richard Nelson's "Sorry" at the Star Theatre in Kittery, Maine, (September 9th - September 18th), invites the audience to pull up a chair at the Apple family's dining room table early in the morning on the day of the 2012 Obama/Romney Presidential election; engrossing the viewer in the intricacies of family relationships and the overarching principles of love, tolerance and belonging that somehow manage to survive despite the ever growing complexity and public outrage of our American Culture.

Following Threshold Stage Company's critically acclaimed and Spotlight nominated production of "Into the Woods", Threshold Stage co-founders Heather Glenn Wixson and Peter Motson wanted their next project to be a play and not a musical. "We needed to find a really well written play with meaty roles for the actors that would immediately engage the audience and be relevant to the current presidential cycle without being overly political." "After reading a bevy of plays we both agreed "Sorry" was a perfect fit for our second production." Spotlight award winning director Heather Glenn Wixson's decision to elevate the seating, reduce the number of available seats and have them surround all but one wall of the set; provides the audience with a bird's eye view into the life of the Apple family. The Apple family is brought vividly to life by a wonderful ensemble cast of local and regionally recognized actors; with James Kennedy as Benjamin, Kate Braun as Barbara, Peter Motson as Richard, Donna Phofolos as Marian and Kristan Curtis as Jane Apple

Pull up a chair with the Apple Family at the Star Theatre as they share their diverse life experiences, grapple with their Uncle Benjamin's ever increasing dementia and somehow maintain a sense of loving kinship all while navigating through the emotionally charged and divisive 2012 presidential election.
