The City Theater in Biddeford's summer musical is the Tony award winning, over-the-top satire, and irreverent Mel Brooks Comedy The Producers! The show opens July 20th and runs through August 5th Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at City Theater's historic opera house, 205 Main St. in Biddeford.

"Step one: Find the worst play ever written. Step 2: Hire the worst director in town: Step 3: Raise two million dollars". What could go wrong?! THE PRODUCERS won a record setting twelve Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Musical Score. The score includes such hits as "I Wanna Be a Producer", "When You Got It, Flaunt It", "Springtime for Hitler", and "Prisoners of Love".

Michael Donovan (South Portland) is Roger De Bris, the flamboyant Broadway director and Tommy Waltz (Portland) is his "common law assistant" Carmen Ghia. Caleb Lacy (Gorham) is Franz Leibkind, who has written the "sure fire flop" Springtime for Hitler; The hard-working ensemble cast includes: Gaia Ayres (Saco); Andrew Bennington (S. Berwick); Briana Chu (Alfred); Nina Finocchiarro (Saco); Braden Foley (Dayton); Kaliegh Hunter (Saco); Carol Jones (Biddeford); Jay W.
