Performances for Homer Bound are Wednesdays 7:00 ($25), Thursdays 7:00 ($25), Fridays 7:30 ($25), Saturdays 3:00 ($32) & 7:30 ($32) and Sundays 2:00 ($32). Thanksgiving week the schedule will change to Monday 11/19 and Tuesday 11/20 at 7:00, no performance Wednesday 11/21 or Thursday 11/22, with regular performances resuming on Friday 11/23. Homer Bound is directed by Sally Wood, who is making her Good Theater directing debut with this production. Sally is a well-known director in the area having directed many shows at Portland Stage Company and The Theater at Monmouth. Sally was featured in Good Theater's production of Clybourne Park.
Starring in the production are Good Theater favorites: Grace Bauer (A Comedy of Tenors), Thomas Ian Campbell (An Inspector Calls, Act One), Kathleen Kimball (Shear Madness, A Comedy of Tenors), Jared Mongeau (A Comedy of Tenors, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Casey Turner (The Little Dog Laughed, Love Loss and What I Wore) and Steve Underwood (A Comedy of Tenors, Underwaterguy). Steve Underwood is the set designer, Paul Haley is the production stage manager, Justin Cote is the costumer designer, Iain Odlin is the lighting designer and Craig Robinson is the technical director.
Karmo Sanders, the author of Homer Bound, is a Maine playwright, author, teacher and comedian who is best known to audiences as the Marden's Lady. Her musical, Gold Rush Girls debuted in Alaska to sold out houses. She was one of the creators of Radical Radio, a family rock and roll musical that toured for many years including a run off-Broadway at Playhouse 91.
Homer Bound was workshopped at the Boston Playwrights Festival, and it has had readings at several theaters including Mad Horse Theatre Company. This marks the world premiere of Homer Bound.
Homer Bound is the second show in the Good Theater season following the sold-out run of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Upcoming main stage shows include An Act of God opening January 16, A Doll's House Part 2 opening February 20 and Lucky Stiff opening March 27. Special events include Blueberries Broadway and Brian 2.0 running concurrently with Homer Bound November 10-December 1, Love Loss and What I Wore opening January 19 and The Irish Curse opening February 23.
