The multi-award winning and Tony nominated actor and singer, Euan Morton, returns to perform for one night only to Maine State Music Theatre audiences on Monday, August 16th, 2010. The concert will begin at 7:30PM at the Pickard Theatre located on the Bowdoin Campus college campus. Tickets range from $17-$30 and are available by calling (207) 725-8769, online at www.msmt.org, or in person at the box office in the Pickard Theater.

Called "sensational" by the New York Times, Morton is most known for his portrayal of the eighties icon, Boy George, in the musical Taboo that opened in London and moved to Broadway, gaining Morton nominations for both Lawrence Olivier and Tony Awards. Morton also won a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Debut Performer on Broadway for that role. More recently, Morton received the coveted Obie Award for starring in Measure for Pleasure at The Public Theater and starred in the title role in Tony Kushner's Brundibár at The New Victory Theatre. Euan recently appeared with Barbara Cook, Vanessa Williams and Leslie Kritzer in Sondheim on Sondheim, a Broadway show conceived and directed by James Lapine. He also will star in director Eric Schaeffer's production of Chess this fall at Signature Theatre in Virginia. Samples from the album and additional information about his career can be found on his website www.euanmorton.com.

Brunswick audiences will remember Morton from his fundraising performance in October 2009. In the words of a MSMT audience member, "I feel very fortunate to have been in the audience when Euan Morton delivered an amazing live performance. Powerful and passionate would be two words that come to mind when I think of that evening. Listening to Euan sing "HALLELUJAH" was one of the most powerful performances I have ever heard anywhere."
