Dancing Drum at Overture Center for the Arts

Dancing Drum's performances combine high-energy drum performance with abundant opportunities for audience participation. With an array of drums from around the world Dancing Drum integrates music education with geography, social studies, history, and character education giving Kids in the Rotunda an unforgettable hands-on experience of the wonderful world of rhythm. Dancing Drum will present "The Turaco & The Chief", a tale from the rainforest about respect and fairness that will have you dancing along!


Each Saturday from the end of September through April at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM, Overture Center presents Kids in the Rotunda, a series of FREE artistic programs designed for children and families. This popular performing arts series on the Rotunda Stage offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers. The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted.
