Are We Delicious? to Present FAMILY SAGA

You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family. Or so we thought, until now.

Are We Delicious? presents Family Saga, a hilarious exploration of the ties that bind. We've chosen eight great Madison performers to work together as a family to create a show in a single week. With that insane deadline, everyone must turn off their filters, trust each other and leap into the unknown. Experience the giddy energy of our performers as they try to make the impossible look easy. Expect the sparks to fly as we toss sisters, uncles, fathers, daughters, brothers and mothers into the expectation-charged stew of family.

Are We Delicious? is an ensemble of Madison writer/performers who conceive, write, rehearse and perform an original one hour show of humor and heart in a single week. Everyone writes, everyone acts and no one can rest until the final curtain.

Are We Delicious? is dedicated to quick, delicious fare made from local ingredients and presented in a tasteful atmosphere. Delicious is performed cabaret-style, with time between pieces to socialize, order a drink or do whatever.

ENSEMBLE BIOS:

Dave Durbin has been a performer in the Madison theatre scene for the last sixteen years. Past performances include The Normal Heart for StageQ, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof for Strollers, Company for Stoughton Village Players, and Bare for Mercury/OUTcast theatre. Are We Delicious? Family Saga marks his fourth appearance with the group.

Stacey Garbarski was recently a finalist in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Auditions at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (region 3) where she competed amongst several hundred talented artists and ranked within the top sixteen. She was the recipient of the 2015 "Dramatists Guild Award for Excellence in a performance from a new play or musical" awarded by The Kennedy Center. She is no stranger to the Madison community theatre scene. Her most notable work has been with StageQ Inc. and shows include: Christmas with the Crawfords (Christopher Crawford), 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche (Dale Prist) and Queer Shorts 9 (Nightingale). She was also featured in Conceal & Carry: Queers Exposed which was produced by Madison Narratives, Taming of the Shrew with Shakespeare on Clark in Chicago. Stacey is a senior at Edgewood College where she has performed in Proof (Catherine), Love's Labour's Lost (Rosaline), Absurd Person Singular (Marion Brewster-Wright), The Arabian Nights (Perfect Love), Bye Bye Birdie (Mrs.Peterson) Our Town (ensemble) Antigone(ensemble) and Little Women (Mrs.Moffett and Mrs.Kirke.)

Miranda Hawk enjoys teaching and serving as the department chair of the Communications and Performing Arts department at Madison College. Some of her favorite acting roles include Martha (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf), Lottie (Enchanted April) Georganne (Five Women Wearing the Same Dress) and Martha (Children's Hour). Directing adventures include Guys and Dolls, Kiss Me, Kate, Romeo and Juliet, The Foreigner, Doubt, and Art.

Kelly Maxwell is a Madison-based actor, musician, and songwriter. She plays acoustic guitar, sings, and composes with alt-country rockers Little Red Wolf. As an actor, favorite roles include Mercury Players' Reefer Madness: The Musical (Mary Lane) and Compleat Female Stage Beauty (Nell Gwynn), Broom Street's Superhero Boogie (Narrator), and most recently OUT!Cast Theatre and Mercury Players' Xanadu: The Broadway Musical (Kira/Clio). She has received a Madison Area Music Award, several Isthmus Favorites awards, and a Bartell Theatre Award (Lead Actress in a Musical: Xanadu). She has performed in Madison at The Bartell Theatre, Broom Street Theater, Overture Center for the Arts, The Barrymore, The Orpheum, Frequency, High Noon Saloon, and Memorial Union Terrace, notably. Kelly has been writing and performing with Are We Delicious? since its inception and also serves as the company's graphic artist.

Karen Moeller? has worked with Forward Theater, CTM, Four Seasons, MTM, Mercury, Strollers, and many other theater companies. She is the Artistic Associate for Forward Theater, and also works as a commercial and voiceover actress.

Doug Reed grew up in Richmond, VA. He received a B.A. in theater from Goshen College, where he set a school record for most skipped chapels. He spent many years writing plays in the Madison, WI area - most notably the runaway local hit The Lamentable Tragedie Of Scott Walker. In addition, he wrote the sports column for Dane101.com under the name Cincinnatus Van Lingle. His debut novel, "Half", the story of a vampire's mid-life crisis, was published by ENC Press in October, 2013. Doug and his wife Deanna currently live on the far outskirts of Chicago - at the very outer edges of where the train line runs.

Matt Sloan is the co-owner of Blame Society Films and the co-creator of the Chad Vader web series. He is the voice of Darth Vader for Disney. On YouTube, he hosts the biweekly movie chat series Welcome to the Basement (with co-host Craig Johnson) and regularly embarrasses himself and others on the show Beer and Board Games. On stage, Matt has played the lead role in Macbeth, and various supporting roles in productions of Glengarry Glen Ross, Much Ado About Nothing and All in the Timing. He has over 20 years of improv experience and is currently a performer with the Monkey Busines Institute improv troupe. This is his eleventh Are We Delicious?.

Tony Trout is the impresario of Are We Delicious?, an ensemble of Madison actor/writers who conceive, write, rehearse and perform an original one-hour comedy-variety show in a single week. Tony is also a producer, director and actor. Recent projects include directing A Little Night Music and My Fair Lady for Four Seasons, and performing as George in Alley Stage's production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
