As part of its commitment to talent development, the Théâtres de la Ville keep exploring new ways to provide exciting opportunities for local professionals. La Brisure des vases, a new original work by Nicolas Zemmour and his company zemmourballet – which will have its premiere at the Grand Théâtre – is an example of such a collaboration. Zemmour who studied the techniques and philosophy of Pina Bausch, is a former dancer of Angelin Preljocaj and also danced with the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, will develop the piece in France and finish its creation during a two-week residency in Luxembourg. As part of this residency he will hold open rehearsals, dance workshops and a post-show discussion with the audience.
La Brisure des vases, a piece for 5 dancers including two dancers from Luxembourg, tells the story of a man who lives in a world where it rains constantly. He does know that another world exists where the sun shines but will he be able to leave everything behind to discover it?
