Frank Capra’s film classic has been brought to vibrant theatrical life!  Set in 1945, it tells the story of George Bailey, a man who is continually setting aside his own dreams in order to keep his late father’s building and loan business afloat.  When a greedy bank manufactures a scandal that threatens to send him to jail, George is crushed.  Sent to help him in his hour of need on Christmas Eve, a guardian angel reveals how different the world and everyone whose life he has touched would be had he never been born.  An uplifting chronicle of the extraordinary lives of ordinary folk, A WONDERFUL LIFE exhilarates the mind and heart and celebrates the innate goodness in us all.

The book and lyrics for A WONDERFUL LIFE were written by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winner Sheldon Harnick with music by Grammy and Emmy Award-winner Joe Raposo. This adaptation was based on the 1946 Frank Capra film “It’s A Wonderful Life” and “The Greatest Gift” by Philip Van Doren Stern.

Derby Dinner’s production of A WONDERFUL LIFE is directed by Lee Buckholz with Choreography by Heather Paige Folsom and Musical Director Scott Bradley.  The role of George Bailey will be played by Matthew Brennan.  Others in the cast will include Jim Hesselman, J.R. Stuart, Rita Thomas, Cary Wiger, Clay Smith, and more.
