Artistic Director Tony Prince and Producing Director Richard McGrew are excited to open the second show of the fourth season of The Liminal Playhouse, "The Effect" by Lucy Prebble directed by Kathi E. B. Ellis.
While we may understand that our emotions are connected to chemical responses in our bodies, is that really all they are? As pharmaceutical companies continue to develop more and more mood (and emotion) altering drugs, how will we be able to determine whether or not our feelings are "real"? Connie Hall (Megan Adair) and Tristan Frey (Trystan Bright-Hadley) are participating in a drug trial being run by former lovers Dr. Lorna James (Heather Green) and Dr. Toby Sealey (Scott Davis). Connie and Tristan think they might be falling in love, but could it be just a side-effect of the drug? This fascinating play is a timely exploration of how little we really know about love.
The scenic designer is Kevin D. Gawley. The lighting designer is Keith Kimmel. The costume designer is Tony Prince. The sound designer is Richard McGrew.
