Artistic Director Tony Prince and Producing Director Richard McGrew are excited to announce the opening of Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies' Tony Award-nominated "Time Stands Still," the final production of the The Liminal Playhouse's second season.
"Time Stands Still" tells the story of Sarah Goodwin, a photojournalist recovering from injuries sustained covering a war in the Middle East, James Dodd, a foreign correspondent and Sarah's lover, Richard Ehrlich, Sarah's photo editor and former lover and Mandy Bloom, Richard's new and much younger girlfriend. The relationships among the characters shift throughout the play as they explore various ethical dilemmas.
"Time Stands Still" was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play and for Best Actress. It is the second Tony Award nominee and fifth Louisville-area premier that The Liminal Playhouse has presented.
Director Tony Prince says, "'Times Stands Still' deals with the moral and ethical complications of war reporting, but it is also very much about the vagaries of love and how our relationships with those we love evolve and change over time. While we may be able to make time stand still in a photograph, the lives we live are ever-changing. While obviously timely, this play is in many ways timeless as well."
The cast is Heather Green as Sarah, David Galloway as James, Brent Gettelfinger as Richard and Katherine Martin as Mandy. The technical team is comprised of Scenic Designer Wes Shofner, Lighting Designer Theresa Bagan, Costume Designer Shane Estes, and Composer/Sound Designer Richard McGrew.
"Time Stands Still" will run March 23 through April 2, 2017 at The Henry Clay Theatre, 604 South Third Street, Louisville, KY.
Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 day of show. Advance tickets are available at TheLiminalPlayhouse.org or by calling (502) 553-8056.
