By the time Pink Floyd released its seminal 1979 album, The Wall, the band was considered by many to be the greatest art rock group in the world. Their pathway had been a curious one, meandering through psychedelic soundscapes and phases of pop-infused art rock toward a sound that would be fully realized in the double concept album, The Wall.
The next album, Final Cut, was the final album for the classic lineup of the band, reflecting a group for whom creative energies and personality conflicts were fused an indistinguishable.
The Dark Side of the Wall's 2016 production, Beyond the Wall, is an ambitious audiovisual journey through the later catalog of one of the most influential bands of the modern era. Beyond the Wall is more than a retelling of Pink Floyd's grand journey, it is a celebration of what can happen when possibilities are endless, creativity is unleashed and personal conflict is channeled into imaginative expressions.
