The Bard's Town Theatre presents the Louisville premiere of the 2011 Obie Award-winning play A Bright New Boise by Samuel D. Hunter, tonight, July 26-Aug 11, 2012.
A disgraced evangelical from Northern Idaho takes a job at a Hobby Lobby in Boise, Idaho in order to reconnect with his estranged son. But as his fellow employees begin to uncover dark secrets from his past, and his son becomes increasingly interested in his reasons for leaving his church, he must choose whether or not to have a normal life and a healthy relationship with his son, or hold onto the beliefs that have given his life meaning.
A 2011 Drama Desk Award nominee and 2011 OBIE Award winner, A Bright New Boise strikes a perfect balance between comedy and an honest look into the world of faith. The Bard’s Town Theatre’s production will mark the play’s first showing in Louisville.
A Bright New Boise is directed by Doug Schutte, and features Megan Brown, Ally Giesting, Ben Geirhart, Corey Music, and Doug Schutte.
