Accepting submissions for "Lexington's Got Groove," a wintertime talent competition debuting at the Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from the same people that present the yearly "Give Into The Groove."
Auditions for "Lexington's Got Groove" take place on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at ArtsPlace, 161 N. Mill St., in Lexington. Tickets for the main event on Saturday, January 24 can be purchased at the Lyric Theatre. An esteemed panel of judges including Edd MacKey, Duane Lundy, Meredith Lane, Bo List, and Emily Hagihara will select Lexington's best.
Your submission fee is 100% tax-deductible and will be divided equally between our non-profits. People can apply and pay to audition via giveintothegroove.com. Remember to print your receipt and bring it with you to the audition.
Also launching at "Lexington's Got Groove" is a contest where students can contribute to an online art exhibit at TheVirtualQuilt.com. The contest is based on participation and merit and runs through the end of March. The winner of the Virtual Quilt competition, open to each Lexington area school, will have their quilt displayed at unique Lexington locations, including the Lexington Library and monies will be awarded to Fayette County Public Schools in June.
