This Week's Featured Regional Theater: Bunbury Theatre at the Henry Clay in Louisville, KY
Since 1985 the Bunbury Theatre has tried to maintain a positive working environment for all artists. They treat their company members with respect and strive to make the working environment as professional as they can. They do not tolerate negativity and work toward developing positive experiences for all artists and volunteers.
Their volunteers are the key to their longevity. Without their volunteer base and support they would not be part of this community. From the Board of Directors to the ushers to the production volunteers, all are vital members of the company.
The Mission of Bunbury Theatre is to create enriching, diverse, live theatrical experiences for the community and its artists in an intimate and professional setting.
The upcoming production is THE BOYS NEXT DOOR by Tom Griffin, June 7-16.
An Off-Broadway success, this very funny yet very touching play focuses on the lives of four mentally challenged men who live in a communal residence under the watchful eye of a a sincere, but increasingly despairing, social worker. Filled with humor, the play is also marked by the compassion and understanding with which it peers into the half-lit world of its handicapped protagonists.
The 2013-14 season will also include the following:
- THE BUNBURY DRAMEDY FESTIVAL by Various Playwrights
- A HOMELESS HOLIDAY by Juergen K. Tossmann
- AGES OF THE MOON by Sam Shepard
