Pandora Productions to Present MY BIG GAY ITALIAN MIDLIFE CRISIS

Pandora Productions continues the 2016-2017 season and kicks off the new year with: MY BIG GAY ITALIAN MIDLIFE CRISIS.

The third in the series of the "big gay Italian" plays from Anthony Wilkinson. Pandora's memorable productions of the first two: MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING and MY BIG GAY ITALIAN FUNERAL were but a sampling of the hilarious world of Anthony Pinnunziato and his wacky family. What could be funnier than those two?

As he approaches his '40s and is faced with the challenges of balancing his successful weight loss company with past and present relationships, Anthony seeks the backing of a wealthy investor but is haunted by someone from his past. Of course, it's even more difficult when your large, meddling family is thrown into the mix. This comedy of errors features more than a few familiar faces, as well as some brand new characters who will help or hinder Anthony on his path to enlightenment. The honeymoon period is over.

My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis is being helmed by guest director Jason Cooper (a star of the Pandora stage now steps behind the scenes) and stars: Jacob Cooper as Anthony, Michael Lee Stein as Andrew, Ken Robinson as Nathaniel, Katelyn Webb as Lucia and returning to the roles they created in Wedding and reprised in Funeral, Susan Crocker as Connie and Kristy Calman as Toniann.

The production will run January 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 at 7:30 p and January 15 and 22 at 5:30 p with the only matinee set for January 21 at 2:00 p. The play will be performed at Pandora's home theatre in the Henry Clay building located at 604 South Third Street, 3rd Floor, Downtown Louisville.

In the moment before imagination succumbs to the autumn pull of responsibilities and commitments, Scotty fights for the mythologies and realities he's come to hold dear and is unwilling to trade in order to be an adult. A play about finding what's lost and losing what you don't need.

Michael J. Drury, Pandora Productions Producing Artistic Director,has worked as a professional actor for 30+ years throughout the Midwest and is no stranger to Louisville area audiences having appeared with Stage One: Louisville's Children's Theatre, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Music Theatre Louisville, CenterStage, Theatre [502] and the Stephen Foster Drama Association, with whom he also toured Japan and was chosen to remake the official cast recording. He has directed numerous productions at Derby Dinner, Louisville Repertory Company, Clarksville Little Theatre and the Shelby County Community Theatre, in addition to adjudicating at theatre festivals including The Kentucky Theatre Association and The Southeastern Theatre Conference.
