March comes in like a lion as Pandora Productions' presents As Bees In Honey Drown, a satirical comedy about the pitfalls of the unquenchable hunger for fame, by Douglas Carter Beane, the same playwright who brought us last season's The Little Dog Laughed.
Eager almost-famous artists, musicians and authors are displayed as easily trapped victims of con artists who promise big, yet empty, dreams. Alexa Vere de Vere, a flashy fast-talker who convincingly captivates and takes advantage of these victims, has a new target on the horizon: Evan Wyler, an aspiring New York writer. Alexa meets with Evan, asking him if he will write a screenplay based on her glamorous life story which will require him to follow her around and take notes. She promises him fame and fortune in return - the same things she has promised, but never given, to so many others. Evan's trust soon gives way to suspicion and the tables then begin to turn with sweet revenge. As Bees in Honey Drown is presented by Pandora Productions at the Henry Clay, 604 South Third Street, 3rd Floor, Downtown Louisville. With Jeremy Sapp as Evan Wyler, Lauren Argo as Alexa Vere de Vere, and featuring Corey Macon Long, Leah Roberts, Chris Bryant, and Susan Shumate.
