Leapin' Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine, who first appeared in local dailies in 1924, takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals. Join Music Theatre Louisville as they present Annie, August 6-8, 10-15, 7:00 p.m.; Matinees, August 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 1:30 p.m. at The Kentucky Center, Bomhard Theater. (Please note the earlier start time is due to the simultaneous run of Jersey Boys)

Little Orphan Annie was introduced by Harold Gray and has run for 86 years...on June 13, that comic strip came to an end. Her popularity soared to iconic status, boasting merchandise, a commemorative stamp, and her own musical! Annie is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie outwits Miss Hannigan, befriends President Roosevelt, and finds a new family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and her lovable mutt Sandy. Annie is directed by John Leffert.
The cast of Annie will also be joined on stage by 103 girls, who have all taken part in CAMP ANNIE, a 2 week musical theatre camp designed to teach choreography, music, and acting! These girls, ages 8-14 will all play the orphan chorus and for most, will be making their acting debut! Stay tuned for more information on an Annie kick off event on August 4th at The Kentucky Center.
