Bluegrass and country music legend Larry Cordle and singer/songwriter Kaitlyn Baker are among musical artists scheduled to perform at the Laurel County Homecoming in London, Kentucky, one of the state's oldest and largest community festivals, on Friday, August 19.

Cordle, an Eastern Kentucky native and member of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, has written many hit songs, including Ricky Skaggs' classic "Highway 40 Blues" and "Murder on Music Row," which was made famous by Alan Jackson and George Strait. (https://youtu.be/h2BfWyiYvrg)

Cordle's songs have appeared on projects that have sold a combined total of more than 55 million records, by artists including Alison Krauss, Rhonda Vincent, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, Diamond Rio, Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins and others. His most recent album, "All-Star Duets," features performances with several of the superstars for whom he has written songs. He is currently putting the finishing touches on a gospel album, which he hopes to release soon.

Cordle also co-produced and sang background vocals on Kaitlyn Baker's new single "Heart of Appalachia." The song has been adopted as the official theme song of the Heart of Appalachia Tourism Authority in Southwest Virginia. The music video recently premiered on The Heartland Network. Currently, she plans to release the single "To Pieces" to country radio stations in September.
