Kentucky Shakespeare presents William Shakespeare's bloodiest tragedy, Titus Andronicus, this Halloween season. The gripping tale of revenge, horror, and political turmoil will be performed in Louisville Visual Art's warehouse on select nights in October.

Violent and experimental, TITUS was the smash hit of Shakespeare's early career and is written with a ghoulish energy he was never to repeat elsewhere. Due to subject matter, the production is recommended for mature audiences only, 13+. Contact Kentucky Shakespeare for content information.

At the performances, Louisville Visual Art will be displaying work by award-winning Louisville-based artist Shayne Hull.

"This was such a hit last Halloween, we just had to bring it back again for 2017. For this production, we're excited to partner with Louisville Visual Art and present the immersive experience in their studio warehouse," explains Matt Wallace, Producing Artistic Director. "This timely exploration of revenge and the darker side of human nature will be a chilling way to spend an October night."

Titus Andronicus, a renowned soldier, returns from ten years of war with only four out of twenty-five sons left alive. He has captured Tamora, Queen of the Goths, her three sons, and Aaron the Moor. Tamora is made empress by the new emperor Saturninus. To get back at Titus, she schemes with her lover Aaron to have Titus's two sons framed for the murder of Bassianus, the emperor's brother. Titus's sons are beheaded and the madness continues. Tamora's sons pursue Titus' daughter Lavinia, and a rash of killings ensue in this Shakespearean Revenge Tragedy.
