This year the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education, KET and the Kentucky World Language Association, will debut a newly designed Next Generation Academy for our state's teachers. The Next Generation Academy for the Integration of World Languages and the Arts will take place in Louisville at Bowen Elementary School on June 20-24 and will focus on integrating the Chinese and Spanish languages with the Arts (music, drama, dance, and visual arts) for 40 elementary school teachers.

Teachers will receive a $500 stipend to attend the full five-day Academy, as well as up to $200 in resource materials which will include KET ArtsToolkits and KET's ¡Arte y Mas! - a Spanish language teaching resource. Housing and per diem allowances will be provided upon request for teachers traveling 50 or more miles.

This Academy will take place from 9 am - 4 pm, and applications must be received by May 11. To learn more about this program, eligibility, and the application process, please visit www.kentuckycenter.org/Education/Academies.
