Derby Dinner Playhouse opens their 2012-2013 Children's Musical Theatre Series with CAPTAIN LOUIE on October 13, 2012. Public performances run October 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10, & 17, 2012.

CAPTAIN LOUIE spins a tale of Young Louie, the new kid in town who feels lonely and without friends in his new neighborhood. Looking for something to cheer himself up on Halloween Night, Louie returns to his old neighborhood friends in an imaginary journey on the wings of his favorite toy, his little red plane. This story is full of tricks and treats, as well as the incomparable music and lyrics of Stephen Schwartz.

Most of all, CAPTAIN LOUIE is about friendship-the ability to make new friends and the importance of old ones. CAPTAIN LOUIE was adapted from the popular children's book "The Trip" written by Ezra Jack Keats. The book is by Anthony Stein with music and lyrics by the creator of "Wicked", Stephen Schwartz. Musical numbers featured are "Trick or Treat", "New Kid in the Neighborhood", "Big Red Plane", and more!

CAPTAIN LOUIE is under the direction of Matt Wallace and the cast will include Abigail Bailey Maupin, Megan Bliss, Bill Hanna, Kate E. Reedy, Jeffrey Todd Parrott, Lamont O'Neal, and Allie Perry.

All public performances of CAPTAIN LOUIE are on Saturdays with Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and Lunch at 12:00 p.m. All performances feature a kid friendly menu and are one hour in length. This production is most suitable for ages 3 - 12.
