Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are thrilled to announce the cast and creative team for Peter and the Starcatcher, a play by Rick Elice, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, with music by Wayne Barker and directed by Meredith McDonough. Peter and the Starcatcher will preview January 26 and 27, open on January 28 and run through February 21 in the Pamela Brown Auditorium as part of the Brown-Forman Series. Tickets are available at 502.584.1205, online at ActorsTheatre.org, or in-person by visiting the Actors Theatre Box Office (316 West Main Street, Louisville, Ky., 40202).

Have you ever wondered how Peter Pan got his name? Or how he met Tinkerbell? In this swashbuckling grown-up prequel to Peter Pan, a dozen brilliant actors playing pirates, mermaids-and of course, our favorite Lost Boys-set out for an adventure filled with ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of theatrical storytelling. This multiple Tony Award-winning play, based on the bestselling children's novel, will have you and your entire family hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight.

Winning the award of Favorite Play from Broadway.com's Audience Choice Awards, Peter and the Starcatcher has gained many "believers" across the country since its debut back in 2009. New York Magazine described the show as "Miraculous. Spectacle, wit and joy spill out of this production like treasure from a magic pocket," while Entertainment Weekly called it, "An absurdly funny fantastical journey!" The Broadway production of Peter and the Starcatcher also carries with it an accomplished award track record, winning five 2012 Tony Awards, including Best Sound, Best Costume, Best Scenic, Best Lighting Design in a play and Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play (won by Christian Borle).

The cast will feature Therese Barbato (Molly), Seth Clayton (Boy), Nathan Dame (Captain Scott), Andy Gaukel (Alf), Nehal Joshi (Smee), Nathan Keepers (Black Stache), Madison Niederhauser (Prentiss), Ben Pelteson (Slank/Hawking Clam), Richard Prioleau (Lord Aster), Rob Tucker (Mrs.Bumbrake/Teacher), and Paul Whitty (Grempkin/Mack/Fighting Prawn). They are joined by members of Actors Theatre's Acting Apprentice Company: Michael T. Brown, Mbali Guliwe, Alejandro Hernandez, Ari Shapiro and Kyle Whalen.

Peter and the Starcatcher will be directed by Actors Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Meredith McDonough (director of the 2015 Humana Festival premiere of Dot by Colman Domingo). The creative team features Sam Pinkleton (Choreographer), Nathan Dame (Music Director), William Boles (Scenic Designer), Kathleen Geldard (Costume Designer), Paul Toben (Lighting), and Lindsay Jones (Sound Designer).

Performances run January 26 - February 21 with an official opening on January 28. Actors Theatre is committed to providing an accessible theatregoing experience, and offers an open captioned performance on Saturday, February 6 at 4 p.m. and an audio described performance on Sunday, February 7 at 2.30 p.m. during the run of Peter and the Starcatcher.
