Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the line-up of events that comprise the annual College Days Weekend as part of the 36th annual Humana Festival of New American Plays. This year, College Days Weekend is slated for March 16 – 18, as part of the Humana Festival of New American Plays that runs February 26 -April 1, 2012.

Every year, hundreds of undergraduate students and faculty attend a three-day immersion into the world-renowned Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Attendees have access to a unique package of educational and professional development experiences that includes behind-the-scenes events, world premiere productions and insight into professional careers in American Regional Theatre. "It is our responsibility to share this incredible gathering of creative resources with future theatre artists," says Les Waters, Actors Theatre Artistic Director. "College Days weekend offers students the chance to meet face-to-face with a variety of theatre professionals, and hear how they made the transition from school to a career. And, of course, they see some outstanding new work along the way."

This year's Festival showcases ten world premieres that run in rotating repertory in Actors Theatre's 633-seat Pamela Brown Auditorium, 318-seat Bingham Theatre, and 159-seat Victor Jory Theatre. In addition, the weekend includes opportunities to participate in career development events and to meet with the top theatre professionals in their field during the Speed Networking Hour among the various panel discussions, Master Classes, and workshops, including Survival Skills for the Theatre Artist and How Artistic Thinking Can Inspire Innovation. There will also be an opportunity to audition for the Acting Apprentice Company or interview for a Professional Internship.

Each yea,r the theatre accepts 22 acting apprentices and 22 interns for a nine-month season-long residency which offers a unique combination of training, observation and hands-on practical experience in regional theatre.
