Actors Theatre Offers Humana Festival Experiences to Emerging Arts Leaders, Expands Community Ticket Grant ImageActors Theatre of Louisville has announced a new opportunity for early-career arts professionals to experience the Humana Festival of New American Plays. The Emerging Leaders Ticket Grant will welcome emerging practitioners working in theatre to a complimentary weekend of new works and spirited conversation at the 42nd annual Festival, beginning February 28 in Louisville.

"At the starting line of the 42nd Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays, we're thrilled to reach out to our young colleagues around the country with the chance to join us this spring," said Melissa Hines, Marketing Manager. "This program is just one more way we're eroding barriers to accessing the arts, and the chance to experience the future of American theatre."

Recipients will be granted a complimentary ticket package to a Humana Festival weekend, which includes up to six world premiere plays, transportation to and from Louisville International airport on key weekends, invitations to events and panel discussions, and a Humana Festival gift. In addition, Actors Theatre will make efforts to arrange for a brief meeting with a theatre professional based on the recipient's area of interest. Recipients may also purchase one additional weekend package at 50% off.

Applications are now open online at https://actorstheatre.org/humana-festival/emerging-leaders-grant/. A cross-departmental selection committee of Actors Theatre staff will review submissions. The deadline to submit is February 9.

The Emerging Leaders Grant marks an expansion of the Theatre's successful Community Ticket Grant program, sponsored in part B. Brown-Forman. Now in its second season, the Community Ticket Grant program served 35 area charities, which granted the opportunity for a theatrical experience to 1,190 local residents.

This city-wide initiative extends to Louisville and Southern Indiana's community groups and 501(c)(3) charities might not have the resources to attend a performance on their own. Qualifying community groups and 501(c)(3) charities serving individuals in the greater Louisville and Southern Indiana area are welcome to apply to receive complimentary tickets to a select Opening Night performance from 42nd Humana Festival productions.

Deadline to submit applications for the 42nd Humana Festival of New American Plays is February 9. Additional season information, program rules and restrictions, and the online application form can be found at actorstheatre.org/community-ticket-grant.
